Funeral Prayers of the Faithful

From the Funeral Book for Families, please decide on one reading from the Old Testament (pages 1-8), one from the New Testament (pages 21-42), one Responsorial Psalm (9-19), and one Gospel (pages 43-68). The Responsorial Psalm may either be sung or read. You may have three friends or family members do the readings and prayers of the faithful.

You may also have a eulogy that would take place immediately preceding the funeral liturgy. We request these last no longer than three to five minutes. It is helpful to have a photo of the decedent for the cover of the worship aid if you so desire. It is also very helpful to have a biography for Father to help him with his homily preparation, particularly speaking of the decedent's faith journey or influence on the family. If you would like to have a slideshow or PowerPoint presentation running during the visitation, we are able to accept a thumb drive or a disc.

If you are planning a funeral luncheon, we have four caterers that we currently work with: Tinucci's, K&J Catering, Kane's Catering, and the Little Oven. If you are interested in using a different vendor, please contact Joy in the parish office.
