Sacraments of Initiation

Baptism

Baptism is celebrated at our weekend Masses. Parents requesting baptism for their child must be active parishioners, participating in Sunday Mass. Baptism preparation is required for those not having a child baptized within the last three years. NEW! Parents have the option to prepare as a family, following the CGS methodology. Baptisms are celebrating along with weekend Masses and can be scheduled individually.

First Communion

Children in grade 2 and up prepare for First Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist at Sunday morning classes beginning in September. Parents commit to worship at weekly Sunday Masses, attending Sunday CGS classes, and teaching at home. First Reconciliation is Sunday, April 14, 2024, 9:45 to 10:45 am. Visit our Faith Formation page for more information.

Confirmation

Confirmation preparation may begin in grade 8. Personal faith growth and initiation into parish life are emphasized. Candidates participate in Catholic rites, community and parish ministries, a retreat, sponsor meetings, and Sunday morning classes. Visit our Faith Formation page for more information.

For Adults (OCIA)

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)  is a formation process for adults who wish to become Catholic or for Catholics who have missed any sacraments beyond baptism or have not yet been baptized. Classes will meet Sundays 9:40-10:40am beginning October 13, 2023. We are excited to offer adult classes in Spanish and English. Candidates are fully initiated into the church at the Easter Vigil Mass. If you or someone you know would like details, please call the office at 651-738-0677.

Act of Contrition +

For Children

O My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I have hurt myself and others. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy.

For Adults

O My God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee. I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who are All Good and deserving of all my love.

I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
