December Saints

Each month I learn something about one of our Patron Saints that I had not heard before! While choosing the December saints, I learned that Saint Stephen (whose feast day is Dec. 26th) was chosen as the patron of Altar Servers. Having proudly watched two Grandson's serve faithfully for many years, I never knew there was a patron saint for that ministry.

During December, St. Stephen's prayer card will be available on the E-Team table along with those for St. Nicholas, patron saint of children, due to the focus of much of his ministry and his famed generosity toward children. Also available will be cards for St. Juan Diego, patron saint of indigenous people and St. Lucy, the patron of people looking for a healing of eye problems and the healing of one’s soul. There will also be both English and Spanish prayer cards available for Our Lady of Guadalupe, who we honor on December 12th. She is the Patron Saint of Mexico and the Patroness of the Americas. December is a very busy month, but please stop by the tables to pick up a prayer card for one or more of these Saints.

Blessings of the season from the E-Team
