January Saints

Again, this month you will find prayer cards to pick up on the E-Team table. We began the month of January with the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God on January 1st.  During the month we honor St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton, patron of Catholic Schools and St. Vincent de Paul, patron of charitable organizations.  We end the month on the 31st remembering Saint John Bosco, (also known as Don Bosco) the patron of children.

St. John Bosco’s symbol is the eagle because an eagle swoops down and catches its prey. Symbolically he represents the eagle, and the prey are the children.  He shared with us “It is not enough to love the children; it is necessary that they are aware that they are loved.” He placed great trust in the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Queen of Saints and Mother of us all.
